New Lestat Movie

So I got whiff of some news that a new Lestat movie might be coming out.
More Info, even though that info is only a rumor or possibility it's still cool to see what might be made.
Half of me is wanting to to come out but the other half of me doesn't in fear that it might be another Queen of the Damned movie. And we all know how much balls that movie sucked.

The new Lestat is rumored to be:

Robert Downey JR
A.K.A Iron Man

What do you guys think? I always thought Cruise did such a great impression of Lestat but Hell Hollywood can surprise you with the makeup if they put their minds to it. And they BETTER for this movie and they better NOT make it some cliche love movie.
Don't you love how fucking hypocritical Anne Rice is? First she makes vampire novels then quits because vampires are "Satanic things God doesn't like" and she goes all Christian on us, not that I didn't care whether or not in the first place it's just the fact it got her to stop writing vampire books, then when she gets this movie production in idea and gets to earn money, her ass is all over the "Vampires!" again.
Not so satanic now that you get more fans and money. Love her to death but come ON.

Besides that, 11PM topic. Couldn't sleep. Don't know why. I have yet to find good Dan Dreiburg/Night Owl II art. FML.

That would be interesting, i'll have to look into the movie.

Oh leave her alone. everyone is bipolar like that lol. I do understand what you mean though. she an amazing author she just needs to find something she can write without worrying about 'god'. oh well. its hard to have insperation and faith sometimes.

I know, but it still peeves me, and you know I get angered easily.
I don't understand how her vampire novels were Satanic anyway. Lestat wanted to be a SAINT, he wanted to be praised by the pope of Christianity. He wasn't going around slaughtering babies and killing them. And even then nothing is bad about Satanism. In simple terms it's about you being your own god. I mean YEAH it does go against the fact that God is a jealous man and you must follow him, but come on, other than that, it isn't bad. And she wasn't even studying or practicing it. If I believe correctly there was a time Armand was submitted into a cult of Satanists in the book but it doesn't mean she studied and followed Satanism. She merely wrote about it. I hope she was just fearing for her soul and went back to Christianity instead of using the "It's Satanic!" as an excuse because she couldn't further her VC novels.
I heard of a lot of authors who couldn't finish or make a new book and made excuses because either their fans were rabid or they just couldn't get the guts to say it in fear that their ego and view would drop.
I believe it's the first and not the latter, or well, I should say I HOPE it is. I will be greatly disappointed in my favorite author if it's the latter of the two.

You're right as rain Angela when you say her writing is great. I love it. I love how her characters have flaws, sometimes one character has so many flaws it seems he/she must lean on someone to live on through life. I like that. It gets a story going, and the names are chosen greatly too.

We'll just have to see. But yeah, its hard to want to write about one thing and then have faith in another.

And who knows what happened that made her change her mind like that. We may never know but lets just hope she keeps writing!
