| Who watches the Watchmen? Watchmen is a graphic novel as well as a recent movie that takes place in the 1980's, where America and Russia (Called the Soviet Union then) is walking on the line of Nuclear war. The graphic novel shows us five masked vigilantes (Originally six until an accident had occurred) who, throughout the book face problems, not just the nuclear war's upcoming, but personal and ethical. The big thing about these 'superheroes' is that none of them, besides Dr.Manhattan, have super powers. They fight with mortal skills. They feel human emotions and do what we would assume now-a-days unheroic acts. Such unheroic acts would be adultery, rape, a hero murdering victims instead of imprisoning them, and jail-breaking allies. This is what makes Watchmen great, they are human, they make mistakes like any other normal human being. You can relate to things they do or feel. Some other great things about Watchmen would be it's huge use of symbolism, multi-layered dialogue, and metafiction.☻☻☻☻☻☻☻☻☻☻☻☻☻☻☻☻ Characters: ☻☻☻☻☻☻☻☻☻☻☻☻☻☻☻☻ Here are some links you might enjoy while discussing the Watchmen: As well as a noncanon video.
